Top 5 Stops on the Polar Express
Every year on the first Saturday in December, after hours, the library in Hilliard magically transforms into the Polar Express. This festive activity requires a free ticket for entrance. Last year, we missed it. We didn’t get our tickets in time..total bummer! So heed the warning; and be sure to get yours- they’re available starting November 10th.
When you enter the magical hallways, there are many activities and features for your family to enjoy. Here’s my top 5:
1: SANTA!!!!!!!!!!
Santa is a MUST stop during our journey at the Polar Express. Snapping a pictures after your little love shares their wish with Old Saint Nick is truly a time honored tradition.
2: Cookie Decorating
First, it’s FREE. The whole event; including this stop. The kids can sprinkle their treat to their heart’s content and enjoy the sugar rush right on the spot; or take the treat home for another time.
3: Games and Activities
You will be given a map of where to go and what to expect when you enter the Polar Express. Stopping by and playing all the games is among my girls favorite things to do!
4: Hot Cocoa Station
You can’t complete a Polar Express Experience without hot chocolate; and it’s FREE. It will be located at the Public Perk. Your family can take a break, enjoy the cocoa (and perhaps their decorated cookie, too) and relax for a minute before continuing on with other festivities. We’ll have caffeinated beverages for sale, if you need a little help staying in the festive spirit. I’ve got four daughters to keep up with. NO JUDGEMENT.
5: THE PUPPET SHOW
Perhaps the best part of the whole experience; you must be sure to attend your allotted time for the puppet show. When your ticket is punched at the entrance, you’ll be assigned a Polar Express Puppet Show time- DON’T MISS IT! Festive fun and laughter, it’s a truly memorable time for the family.
It’s truly a magical evening of holiday memories. We WON’T miss it this year!
